Tatami Rooms
Kermadec was a maritime-themed restaurant on on Auckland’s Viaduct Basin, designed by Noel Lane Architects and looking out over the marina. Each room had its own Pacific influence, supported by work from several New Zealand artists.
I was commissioned to design and produce art glass installations throughout. Two dining rooms were enclosed entirely in glass, very loosely informed by Japanese design but with the oceanic theme continued with sandblasted macro forms based on marine protozoa and crustacea, encasing the rooms, and on screens and doors.
